At an altitude of around 1700 meters, idyllically situated at the head of the Wolfbachtal valley, our alpine hut awaits you. The unique location, away from the mainstream, offers nature lovers, hikers and all those who simply want to switch off, an unforgettable vacation experience with maximum peace and relaxation.
In the summer months we rent out our alpine pasture, which is the perfect starting point for leisurely family hikes as well as challenging mountain tours. For a delicious snack and refreshments, you can reach the nearest mountain hut with a snack station just 500 meters away – a pleasant 10-minute walk.

Our alpine hut, newly built in 2003, offers a relaxing stay in the midst of nature. The hut consists of a cozy anteroom and a traditional living room with an equipped kitchen where you can prepare delicious meals. There is a shower with hot water in the hut. The toilet is located next to the hut in the outdoor area. The two spacious bedrooms are furnished with comfortable double and single beds and can accommodate a total of 4-6 people.
Please note: There is no cell phone reception at the cabin. However, reception is often possible a little higher up in the mountains. The electricity is generated by a solar cell, which means that the amount of electricity is limited and therefore only individual electrical appliances are possible. That’s why we provide also candles in the hut, so that light is provided even in bad weather and in the evening.
The alpine pasture and the adjoining stable building are fenced in so that you can enjoy your vacation in peace and quiet.
Because a hut vacation is a special experience, we will try to answer your questions in advance. If there are still some open, just get in touch with us directly.
Yes, you can arrive by car without any problems. If you have a lowered car, please let us know in advance, as the path is only a goods road. You will need a key for the barrier, which we will give you on arrival. We usually meet you in Taxenbach (by prior arrangement by telephone) and drive to the hut with you. Once there, we will show you everything in person and are of course always available to answer your questions.
Due to its unique location, the hut can only be booked by guests in summer. Depending on the weather, it can be booked for guests from around mid-June to September. Just send us your preferred date and we will get back to you.
Electricity is generated by means of a solar cell. This means that electricity is primarily needed for light. This means that several electrical appliances cannot be used at the same time. It is definitely worth taking a flashlight with you. When the sun goes down, candles are at your disposal so that you can end your evening in the hut in a cozy atmosphere.
There is a small washroom with shower and hot water at the Tristenangeralm. The toilet is located next to the hut outside. The hut is equipped with hot water.
The kitchen is equipped with a wood stove, pots and pans etc. All you need to bring are the ingredients and food and off you go.
Wood for the stove is of course available on site and is included in the price.
No, the hut is heated by the wood stove in the kitchen.
In the spirit of nature, we deliberately do without WLAN. You should come to rest here and switch off. There is also no direct cell phone reception in the hut. However, we will be happy to show you where in the area you are most likely to receive a phone reception.
The hut is perfect for a somewhat quieter and different family vacation. The site is fenced all around and therefore secure. And the unique nature, the animals – all in the immediate vicinity – are sure to make for unforgettable vacation memories.
If you want to bring a 4-legged friend, please contact us in advance. There are grazing cattle on the alpine pasture and we have to clarify in advance whether a dog is possible on the alpine pasture on the date of arrival.
